CITY OF LINO LAKES
PARK BOARD MEETING
MONDAY, MARCH 1, 1993
Ken Johnson noted that the equipment at Leonard and Bradley Park is
not that old. He suggested that maybe we aren't getting the best
value for our money. We should look for the best bargains. Perhaps
wood is not the best material to use.
NEW BUSINESS•
Integrated Recreation Program Position - The council has approved
the hiring of an Adaptive Recreation Programmer. This person would
have a degree in Therapeutic Recreation and would be involved in
setting up recreation programs to meet the needs of Lino Lakes
residents with disabilities. This would be a pilot program and is
being funded by a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) . Marty
Asleson will actively pursue a staff person. Because the figures he
has seen are several years old, he is not sure of how many people
there are in the community under the age of 16 with disabilities.
He thinks this is a major step in our Recreation Department.
OTHER NEW BUSINESS:
Marty Asleson made note that he will have an updated list of sub-
divisions in progress for the board at the next meeting. There was
no other old business.
ADJOURN•
The board voted unanimously to adjourn at 8: 06 pm.
4
