AGENDA
ITEM ' y /
STAFF ORIGINATOR Marty Asleson
DATE Feb 24
TOPIC Brandywood Park Update
BACKGROUND
Please find the attached minutes and development
agreement for the Brandywood park dedication. Also please find
attached an aerial photo of the existing park boundaries and future
expansion areas.,
Park Plate No. : 19 on gage 6-62 of the comprehensive plan shows a
need of approximately acres of park area for this area. It also
shows that 5 acres now exist in the development. I believe that we
were incorrect on giving this figure to Jeff Schoenbauer when the
comp plan was finalized. The actual dedication is 2.6 Acres of
upland.
As part of the agreement with the Park Board concerning the
dedication for Brandywood the developer was to purchase an
additional acre of land to meet his requirement of 3.6 acres total,
or donate an additional $7,000 -for the- purchase-of this land. Mr.
Fitzgerald did approach the property owners to the south to buy
this additional land and they did not want to sell at that time.
It appears that they are horse owners and would then not have the
minimum acreage totals to keep the animals.
This update is as requested when phase 3 of Brandywood develops
(July 9, 1990 Park Board Meeting) . The developer at this time is
proposing to pay $7000.00 to fulfill the dedication requirements
for Brandywood Development, and has met dedication requirements for
phases 1 and 2.
OPTIONS
1. ) Accept the $7000.00 and purchase land to the south when it
becomes available. -
IRECOMMENDATION
It appears that right now this is the only option.
