CITY OF LINO LAKES PARK BOARD
SPECIAL MEETING
FEBRUARY 6, 1993
A special meeting of the Lino Lakes Park Board was called to order
by Ken Johnson at 12:07 pm on Saturday, February 6, 1993 at the
proposed park site of the Woods of Baldwin Lake Estates
development. Members in attendance were Jacquelyn Farm, Ken
Johnson, Brian Bourassa, John Bauman. George Lindy joined the
meeting at 12: 15 pm. Board member not in attendance was Ray
Johnson. City staff in attendance was Marty Asleson. Also in
attendance was Mr. Tim Kytonen, representing CR Investments (Clyde
Rehbein) the developer, and a good representation of neighborhood
residents.
This special meeting was called at the site so that the board could
view the proposed park site prior to making a recommendation to the
council.
,.•r After assessing the property there was discussion regarding access
to the park area from White Pine Road and the need to pursue the
national permitting process to get permits to fill the ponding.
area. Also considered was staking the boundaries and re-shaping
the pond. There is a possibility of obtaining an easement along the
old St. Paul Water Works property from the new owners. The
developer indicated he will pursue placing houses on the proposed
park property should it not be acceptable for park use. A big area
of concern was maintaining the integrity of the natural ponding
area. We will still pursue the six acres total park area for the
neighborhood.
MOTION: Brian Bourassa made a motion to recommend to accept the
proposed park area as a park, conditionally to further review with
the developer, the possibility of re-shaping the pond and to obtain
the permits from the Corps of Engineers for access. The motion was
seconded and unanimously carried.
ADJOURN: Upon unanimous vote the meeting was adjourned at 12:25 pm.
