AGENDA C
STATE OF V6 -
DDEPARTMENT OF NATURAL. RESOURCES °
°
METRO REGION T=RS - 1200 VYdZ\ER ROAD, ST_ PAUL, MN 55106
PsiONE NO. 772-7910 FILE NO.
October 24, 1990
Mr. Steve Johnston
Merila & Associates
8401 73rd Ave. N.
Brooklyn Park, MN 55428-1508
RE: BRANDYWOOD ESTATES, WETLAND 2-555W, LINO LAKES, ANOKA CCUNTY
Dear Mr. Johnston:
I have reviewed the preliminary plan for the above-referenced project (July 5,
1990 Revision) and have the following caanents:
DNR protected wetland 2-555W extends into the southeast boundary of our
jurisdiction. The ordinary high water level (OHW) appears to be at
approximately elevation 902 (plan datum) . No work in the wetland is planned,
so no DNR permits will be required. Tim Fell (220-0360) should be contacted
regarding U.S. Army Corps of Engineers jurisdiction. The runoff from White
Oak Road appears to be going through a pretreatment basin before entering the
wetland. This is good.
According to the Lino Lakes. Flood Insurance Rate Map the 100-year floodplain
is limited to areas east of White Oak Road. The Rice Creek Watershed District
(Tom Rasmussen @ 473-4224) may be able to provide you with an actual elevation.
A11 structures located in the 100-year flood area must be elevated to the
regulatory flood protection elevation.
Although the north end of the project is in the shoreland district of Ward's
Lake all lots meet the size requirements of the City's shoreland ordinance.
Thank you for the opportunity to review this project. Please call me if you
have any questions.
Sincerely,
Ton Hovey SHORT ELL IOTT I ,'•ORICKSOid. 1idC.
Area Hydrologist
T 182:kap NOV - 1 1990
cc: John Miller, City of Lino Lakes ST.
