Randy Schumacher stated that the dedicated funds are from <br /> donations only used on developmental park land - for <br /> acquisition of park land or purchase of park land. <br /> Vern Reichert suggested a new update be done on the old <br /> survey as to what type of facilities the people here in Lino <br /> Lakes are looking for. The Park Board should have some kind <br /> of plan as to where their monies should go. <br /> Our Honorable Mayor, Ben Benson noted that we have planned a <br /> city tour January 9, 1988 and presentations will take place <br /> and projected growth will be discussed, hopefully helping <br /> the Park Board with their plans in the future. <br /> After discussion regarding the dedicated fund, where monies <br /> come from, where the Park Board is going to purchase land <br /> for ballfields - hockey rinks etc. Chairman Ray Johnson said <br /> the Board just wanted to communicate their concern regarding <br /> general funding. <br /> The Honorable Mayor Ben Benson said we' ll depend on the <br /> levy, receipts and state aid for the parks . The Mayor said <br /> there is definately going to be a change because of the <br /> legislature. The Council would like to see the Park Board <br /> put together a plan over a 5 year period that they could <br /> look at , and the Council will try to work with them with it . <br /> Chairman Ray Johnson thanked the Council for coming to their <br /> meeting. <br /> Chairman Ray Johnson asked Don Volk to bring to the January <br /> meeting a copy of the old survey that was done in our city, <br /> so the Park Board can review it . <br /> B . SCHOOL PARK <br /> Chairman Ray Johnson asked Don Volk if all the bids were in <br /> yet? Don replied yes, and listed them: 14, 330. 00 <br /> 16, 200. 00 <br /> 18, 900. 00 <br /> This is for grading and a ballfield line, and for class 5 <br /> gravel in the parking lot. We have been contacted by the <br /> school district as to what we' re going to do. The school <br /> has approved the plan. Don Volk said he talked to all of <br /> the bidders and they said the prices will drop down in the <br /> Spring. We will tell the school that we are still in the <br /> planning stage, and we are going to wait until Spring to <br /> start on the work there. <br /> LETTER TO CHARLIE JOHNSON - this letter was to inform the <br /> Park Board at their last meeting, the Lino Lakes Park Board <br /> authorized the purchase of 9 lights , and wooden poles at the <br /> price of $500. 00. Don Volk said this was all taken care of. <br />
