This property has been sold by the City of St . <br /> Paul ; the City of Lino Lakes offer of $1 . 00 for the property <br /> was not accepted. (Background on this issue can be found in <br /> Park Board minutes during the year of 1986 .and 1987 . ) <br /> QUOTES FOR PARK IMPROVEMENTS <br /> Lino Park Playground Equipment - Mr. Volk stated that in his <br /> opinion either company bidding on the Lino Park playground equip- <br /> ment would provide good quality equipment , and despite the fact <br /> that the actual equipment bid is not exactly the same , the acti- <br /> vities provided are comparable . <br /> Earl F. Andersen & Associates $2 ,693 . 00 <br /> St . Croix Recreation Company $3 ,000 . 00 <br /> MOTION: Mr. Nissen moved to recommend to Council awarding the <br /> bid of $21693 . 00 from Earl F. Andersen for playground equipment <br /> for Lino Park because it is the low bid and is compatible with <br /> the existing equipment in the park. This purchase is included <br /> within the 1987 capital improvements plan . Mr . BauThann seconded <br /> the motion which carried unanimously . <br /> Backstop at Shenandoah Park - Mr. Volk stated the quotes for <br /> backstop for a ballfield at Shenandoah Park include a 20 ' back- <br /> stop and 10 ' left and 10 ' right wings (price includes installa- <br /> tion) . He felt either company would provide the quality expected . <br /> Crown Fence & Wire Company $1 ,494 . 00 <br /> Century Fence $1 ,437 . 00 <br /> MOTION: Ken Johnson moved to recommend to Council awarding the <br /> bid of $1 ,437 from Century Fence for a backstop at Shenandoah Park <br /> because it is the low bid and included in the 1987 capital improve- <br /> ments plan. Mr. Baumann seconded the motion which carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> Volleyball Courts at Sunrise Park - Mr . Volk stated that he has <br /> begun to estimate the cost of putting in volleyball courts at <br /> Sunrise Park as discussed at the 3/87 Park Board meeting . (The <br /> Circle-Lex Lions volunteered to pay for the courts , but requested <br /> the Park Department submit estimated cost before putting in the <br /> courts . ) <br /> Thus far , the estimates put together by the Park Department are <br /> for two 30 ' X 60 ' courts to be located just north of the pleasure <br /> rink . Mr. Volk felt grass courts would be about $600 for materials , <br /> sand courts would be about $850 . <br /> Mr. Nissen and Mr . Lindy felt that sand courts appear to be the <br />
