PARK BOARD March 2 , 1987 Chairman Ray Johnson called to order the regular meeting of the Lino Lakes Park Board at 7 : 05 P.M . , Monday , March 2 , 1987 . Board- members present : Lindy, Ken Johnson , Baumann. Members absent : James , Nissen , and Toffoli (absent due to the birth of her baby during the past week) . Also present were Mr. Volk , Public Works Director ; Mrs . Foster, Secretary; Mr . Bisel , Council Liaison. CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES Regular meeting - February 2 , 1987 - Ken Johnson asked that the 2/2/87 minutes be corrected to include : Page 2 , MOTION: Mr. Lindy . . . . and free play on the drawing . This grading is to be completed when the roads are completed in this development . Mr. Baumann seconded the motion to accept the 2/2/87 minutes to include the correction above . Motion carried unanimously . FOX ROAD/COLONIAL WOODS - EASEMENT AS PARK LAND Mr. Mike Ball and Ms . Mary Kay Benson appeared before the Board to continue the discussion from the 2/2/87 meeting wherein the residents of Colonial Woods are requesting that the Fox Road easement in Colonial Woods be changed to park land . They presented a petition signed by several Colonial Woods residents requesting this park area. MOTION: Mr. Lindy moved to recommend to Council that the Fox' .Rd . ease- ment , under the conditions outlined within the petition presented this evening , be dedicated as park land , contingent upon approval by the necessary safety and emergency departments , the Planning & Zoning Board , and the City Council. This motion failed for lack of a second . The Colonial Woods representatives were told that at the time of the plat approval , the developer paid money as park dedication rather than providing a park within the plat . This item was then tabled until the next Park Board meeting . Ms . Benson took back the petition in order to distribute it to the remainder of Colonial Woods residents for signatures . BMX TRACK INSURANCE Ray Johnson reported that the BMX track association leader, Mr . Neil Shult , has assured Mr. Johnson that the association has in- surance coverage for the BMX association, the association has re- ceived the canceled check for the premium , however the association has not yet received the policy . The Board asked that staff pre- pare a letter to the BMX association stating that if the City has not received a certificate of insurance by the next Park Board meeting , the Board will recommend to the City Council the elimin- ation of the track .
