PARK BOARD September 3 , 1986 Chairman Ray Johnson called to order the regular meeting of the Lino Lakes Park Board at 7: 04 P.M. , September 3 , 1986 . A tour of the Baldwin Lake property owned by the City of St. Paul took place immeaiately before this evening' s meeting. Members present: all members (K. Johnson, J. Baumann, G. Lindy, B. Nissen, K. James , J. Flannery) . Also present were Public Works Director, Don Volk and Secretary, Shar Foster. CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES - August 4, 1986 Ken Johnson moved to approve the minutes of the August 4 , 1986 meet- ing as presented. Mr. Baumann seconded the motion which carried unanimously. ICE ARENA PROPOSAL In updating the ice arena proposal issue presented by Jim Arntzen at the 8/4/86 meeting, Mr. Volk reported that the City of Circle Pines is trying hard to get the arena in Circle Pines and has offered a parcel of land on which to locate the arena. At the 8/4/86 meeting the Park Board approved the concept of the ice arena and agreed to make . a location available somewhere in Lino Lakes when and if the CACC (Centennial Area Civic Center) organization needed the property. The Lino Lakes City Council felt that if the Park Board wanted to commit a piece of property, some definition should be given to the parcel. Mr. Volk had been asked at the 8/4/86 Park Board meeting to put together a list of possible locations for the ice arena. That list follows: Locations preferable for immediate occupancy: 1 . S.W. corner of Sunrise Park ( 3 acres) 2 . North park in Sunset Oaks (currently undeveloped) Best if needed in the next two years: 1. Location of proposed D. Erickson plat on Birch Street 2. Blackduck area where Regency Homes/Uhde Development is building 3. St. Joe's church property 4. Property owned by G. Rehbein on Lake Drive MOTION: Mr. Baumann moved to recommend to Council that the S.W. corner of Sunrise Park (approximately 3 acres ) be offered to CACC for the proposed ice arena should the proposal become reality.
