PARK BOARD <br /> June 2 , 1986 <br /> Page Two <br /> D . ERICKSON PLAT <br /> Mr. Schumacher explained that D . Erickson is presently pursuing the <br /> City 's approval to approach the Metropolitan Council to request that <br /> the MUSA lines be changed to accommodate his proposed plat which calls <br /> for city utilities. Several steps will need to be completed before <br /> this development becomes a reality . The City Planner will be working <br /> with D. Erickson to redesign the plat taking into consideration the <br /> wishes of the planner, engineer, Park Board, etc . The Park Board is <br /> asked to decide upon a cash donation for park dedication of give some <br /> direction as to possible locations and size for a park area within <br /> the plat . <br /> Mr . Ficocello, representing D. Erickson joined the meeting at this <br /> time. Ray Johnson had to leave, turning the chair over to Ken Johnson . <br /> Discussion followed as to the topography an'd _;devel'opment of the adjacent <br /> properties . <br /> MOTION: Mr. Flannery moved to keep in mind an area of approximately <br /> 3 . 6 acres (or 10% of the land) in the southeast corner of the plat <br /> for the purpose of a park with a future ballfield, ice rink and <br /> playground equipment when redesigning the plat . The land should be <br /> flat and open . Motion seconded by Mr . Baumann and carried unanimously . <br /> SCHOOL PROPERTY LEASE <br /> Mr . Schumacher reported that this week the City will receive from <br /> the City Engineer the grading plan and field layout for the proposed <br /> park on the school property on Birch Street . This will be presented <br /> to the school board for their consideration and all this information <br /> will be brought before the next Park Board meeting. <br /> POSSIBILITY OF ICE ARENA <br /> Jim Arntzen, representing the Hockey Association appeared before the <br /> Board to explain that the Hockey Association is looking to build and <br /> manage an ice arena somewhere in the Centennial School District . The <br /> plans at present are to pursue a parcel of land on which to build the <br /> arena . Approximate funding would be $250 ,000 from the County , $250,000 <br /> from donations , $250 ,OOO in free labor and materials , and $250 ,000 to <br /> be financed. Mr . Arntzen stated that he would like to check back with <br /> the Park Board before mid-August and this issue at present is food for <br /> thought . <br /> ST. PAUL - BALDWIN LAKE PROPERTY <br /> Mr. Schumacher stated that he has again received a letter from the <br /> City of St . Paul asking if Lino Lakes has any interest in purchasing <br /> the ten-acre parcel near Baldwin Lake which the City has leased for <br /> $1 per year from St. Paul for several years . It was decided that <br /> Mr. Schumacher would write to the City of St . Paul asking for more <br /> information regarding the topography and accessability of the parcel . <br /> Mr . Flannery moved to adjourn at 8: 55 P.M. Mr . Baumann seconded the <br /> motion. Aye . <br />
