PARK BOARD
• April 7, 1986
Chairman Ray Johnson called to order the regular meeting the Lino Lakes Park
Board at 7:05, Monday, April 7, 1986. Boardmembers present: Nissen, Baumann,
Ken Johnson, Flannery, Lindy. Absent: Sacco. Also present were Don Volk,
Public Works Director; Randy Schumacher, City Administrator; Bill Bohjanen,
Council Liaison; and Shar Foster, Secretary.
CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES - February 3, 1986
MOTION: Mr. Flannery moved to approve the minutes of the February 3, 1986
meeting as presented. Mr. Nissen seconded the motion. Carried unanimously.
There was no meeting of the Park Board during March, 1986.
ANOKA COUNTY PARKS ADVISORY BOARD - Bill Bohjanen
Mr. Bohjanen reported that the Council has not yet taken action on the request
of the Park Board to replace Mr. McLean with Mr. Nissen on the Anoka County
Parks Advisory Board. This item did appear on :'the last Council agenda, but
was not discussed due to the fact that the Council meeting ran very late into
the evening and a number of items were postponed until the next Council meeting.
This item will be discussed at the next Council meeting and the recommendation
will be to retain Mr. Clausen and replace Mr. McLean with Mr. Nissen as members
of this board.
PARK PROPERTY ON THE EAST SIDE
Mr. Schumacher reviewed the proposal of L & G Rehbein to donate property east
of .35E for park purposes after excavating the soil and replacing it with layers
of lime sludge and soil reserved during excavation. The Council considered the
Park Board's recommendation to approve the concept and look into bringing this
concept to reality. They felt that several issues, such as the elevation of
the land, the PCA review and County review, etc. need to be settled before
approval of the concept. In light of this, the Council passed this proposal
on to the Planning Commission for their review.
Ray Johnson asked if any other proposals had been received by the City regarding
park property on the east side. Mrs. Foster said that a couple of parties
wrote stating that they may be interested in selling their property and that
the City could contact them.
SIGNS FOR SUNRISE PARK AND COUNTRY LAKES PARK
Mr. Volk reported that the sign for Sunrise Park has been built and will be
erected next week. The Circle-Lex Lions have agreed to pay for the sign and
Mr. Volk will include on the bill costs for building a small berm on which
to put the sign and some shrubbery.
The sign for Country Lakes Park has also been built and paid for by the VFW.
SUNSET OAKS PARK DEDICATION
Mr. Schumacher reported that the City Attorney has been unable to contact the
Attorney for Tilsen Properties (the developer of Sunset Oaks) with regard to
satisfying the park dedication as agreed to by both parties.
