PARK BOARD August 13 , 1985 Page Three OLD BUSINESS (continued) The Board voiced its concern that the communications links between other boards and staff within the City and the Park Board seem to be breaking down. In an effort to keep the Park Board informed of those things which are of interest to the Park Board , they would like to be sure that minutes of all Council meetings are sent to them as soon as possible after Council meetings and any minutes of Planning and Zoning Board meetings which may be of interest to the Park Board are sent as well . It was requested that the Police Department also be asked to send any vandalism reports , etc. relating to park business to the board members . Mr. Volk agreed to pass this concern on to the staff and Police Department. Ken Johnson also felt that to help this communication effort , the Council liaison should attend all meetings of the Park Board, and if unable to attend, the City Administrator attend. It was mentioned that there seems to be quite a bit of parking in the Lino Park by..customers or employees of Luther ' s Sport Shop. Mr. Volk stated that he has contacted the owner of Luther' s and as soon as construction on Lois Lane is complete , Luther' s will not be using the park as a parking lot . NEW BUSINESS Mr. Volk introduced an offer .by a developer in the Lino Lakes area of some property to be given as park property to the City , should the City wish to have it and maintain it . The property is located between East Shadow Lake Drive and Blackduck. The way the lots were platted, this property is only accessible to the residents bordering the property or through two small openings between lots . The Park Board did not feel that it would be advantageous for the City to take this land since it is not large enough to develop into a park and would be costly to maintain. MOTION: Mr. Sacco moved to suggest that an association be established by the homeowners bordering the property and that the association be responsible for maintaining the property. Motion seconded by Mr. Scherer and carried unanimously. RESIGNATION - Pete Scherer Mr. Scherer informed the Board that this would be his last meeting with the Park Board. A formal letter of resignation will be sent to.the Council. Chairman Johnson thanked Mr. Scherer for his many years of service to the City as a member of the Park Board.
