Arntzen moved to adopt the 1984 plan to be completed in 1984 and <br /> not to exceed the projected costs of $14 , 785 . 00 by more than 10%. Secondec <br /> by Mr. Flannery . Motion carried unanimosuly . <br /> LaMOTTE PARK UPDATE <br /> Mr. Volk reported on the actions of the Council in reference to this Park . <br /> If the Park is sold, the money will stay in the Park Fund . However, there <br /> is still some questions on the legality of selling this land . There was <br /> discussion on the fact this land is not being used for any recreational <br /> purpose and the City crews spend a lot of time cleaning up the area. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> Sunrise Park Phone Restrictions - Mr. Volk explained the City is saving <br /> approximately 15 . 00 per month by having the 75 call limit on the phone . <br /> Mr. Volk pointed out this phone is for emergency use only and the only <br /> time there is a problem with over use is during the hockey season when <br /> the phone is misused by the kids. He reported the phone is now locked and <br /> should solve this problem. <br /> Mr . K. Johnson asked about a pay phone and MR. Volk said he is still in <br /> the process of investigating this possibility . He said it is now <br /> possible to own your own pay phone - he is also investigating this <br /> possibility . <br /> Bicvcle Paths - MnDOT Grant- Mr. K. Johnson asked why this application <br /> for funds had been turned down . Mr. Volk explained that in talking with <br /> MnDot , he was told that unless the bicycle path ties into another system <br /> then there is no chance of obtaining a grant . This application was put <br /> together very quickly due to the time limit , and he felt it would be in <br /> good use for 1985 . <br /> Mr. R. Johnson asked if Mr. Volk had any information on the cost of <br /> putting power in Lino Park and Mr. Volk said he had not gotten that <br /> information as yet . He is still working on that and on getting water <br /> into the park . There is a well in the area - MR. Volk said he wanted to <br /> get a test pump and see if this well is sufficient . <br /> Mr. Volk presented the Board members with a copy of a letter sent to the <br /> VFW setting forth the items and the area where their donations to the <br /> Park Fund have been used . <br /> NEW BUSIENSS <br /> Mr .Scherer asked about the plans for the obtaining land for a Park on <br /> the East side of the City - is this still in the plans? HE felt , if it is , <br /> this should be take care of before the land prices go out of sight . <br />
