These issues relate to PARK OPERATIONS:
24. The cost of park maintenance may be lessened through equipment sharing among the
county and municipal governments.
25. There may be a possibility to share in the maintenance and patrol of city and county
parks that are located near one another.
These issues are GENERAL:
26. Cooperation between park management departments should be enhanced to address
leisure demands at a local level.
27. A volunteer contact list should be established to promote the betterment of parks. The
list would include users group contacts and interested and skilled volunteers. The list
would be shared among communities when needed.
28. There is a need to continue to identify and evaluate possible special attraction additions
to the regional park system.
29. There is a need to continue to communicate between agencies to ensure demands for
leisure services are being satisfied. Each unit should identify their niche and know where
other services are provided in the county.
30. Cooperative funding and marketing of regionally significant facilities should take place
on a regular basis, if possible.
31. The county should provide technical assistance to the rural communities in the county to
assist in park and trail planning, park development and park maintenance.
32. All public leisure providers should communicate with one another to market programs
and facilities.
