L <br /> City of Lino Lakes <br /> Park Board Meeting <br /> July 1, 1996 <br /> On July 1, 1996, the City of Lino Lakes Park Board meeting was <br /> called to order at 6 :35pm, by Chair, George Lindy. <br /> Roll call was taken, members present were George Lindy, Betty <br /> Piper, Paul Montain, Amy Donlin, and Joe Schmidt . Also present <br /> were Marty Asleson, Park, Recreation, and Forestry Coordinator, <br /> Barry Bernstein, Recreation Program Supervisor, and Sandie Wood, <br /> Recording Secretary. Not present were Pam Taschuk and Sharon <br /> Lane. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM JUNE 3, 1996 : <br /> The minutes were not completed so this item was deferred. <br /> OPEN MIRE• <br /> No one was present for open mike. <br /> BIRCHWOOD ACRES MASTERPLAN: <br /> George Wattson gave Park Board Members, residents and staff <br /> copies of the master plan from the discussion at the June 27, <br /> 1996 meeting. He reviewed the plans . <br /> Marty said he heard from residents about moving the playground <br /> equipment to an open area rather than the proposed area. He <br /> explained where the residents wanted it moved to. This would be <br /> a better area and the structure would fit in there. <br /> Mr. Webster, 622 Fox Road wanted to know if the park could remain <br /> as natural as possible. He wanted to know if it is possible to <br /> create an earth berm and transplant vegetation as a barrier <br /> between park and his house. He wants to decrease visual impact . <br /> There was also questions about the park dedication dollars and <br /> what they have been used for. Marty responded to this question <br /> and told residents they could stop in the office if they wished <br /> to discuss it further. <br /> There was discussion about doing a survey to see how the <br /> neighborhood would like to prioritize the amenities for this <br /> park. <br /> MOTION• <br /> ---� After further discussion Joe Schmidt made a motion to accept the <br /> master plan for Birchwood Park with the change of the play <br /> structure to utilize the open space to minimize the impact on the <br /> 1 <br />
