� � h City of Lino Lakes Park Board Meeting August 4, 1997 The August 4, 1997, City of Lino Lakes Park Board meeting was called to order at 6 :33pm, by Joe Schmidt, Acting Chair. Roll call was taken, members present were Joe Schmidt, Betty Piper, Paul Montain, Pam Taschuk, and Kim Sullivan. Sharon Lane was absent . Also present were Mike Hoffman, Interim Director, Barry Bernstein, Recreation Program Supervisor, Mary Fogarty, and Sandie Wood, Recording Secretary. APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM JITLY 7, 1997 MEETING: The July 7, 1997 Park Board minutes were deferred. OPEN MIKE: There was no one present for open mike. INTRODUCTIONS• Barry introduced Mike Hoffman, Park Department Lead Worker, Interim Director. He said Mike has worked for the City of Lino Lakes for 14 years. HIGHLAND MEADOWS DEVELOPMENT: Barry gave background information. He said the proposed development is planned at the intersections of 79th Street, Marilyn Drive, and Lois Lane. The total area planned is 55 .9 acres with a park dedication of 5 .2 acres . He explained the options were to accept as planned or discuss options in regards to trails and park dedication. Barry recommended to discuss entry points by trail into the park from the west side of the development. He stated the park dedication is shy of the 10 per cent park dedication ordinance. Barry then introduced Bruce Kerber who discussed the trail location. Bruce said the City had suggested the trail go between lots 35 and 36, 8 and 9, and 61 and 62 . He proposed the trail go between Lots 41 and 42 and then north along Mardon Acres and Highland Meadows, entering into the park. Paul asked how many acres were in the whole development . Bruce said he was not sure. Barry thought it was 55 .9 acres less ^ wetlands. Bruce said there was going to be a meeting on August 7 with the residents so he will know more after that meeting. 1
