City of Lino Lakes <br /> Park Board Meeting <br /> August 4, 1997 <br /> Mike anticipated this work to be done sometime this fall . He <br /> showed the members, on a map, where the trail will lie. He told <br /> the board he will keep them updated. <br /> Joe asked if the southern section, by the beach, will be <br /> blacktopped. Mike said there is no money now but could be done <br /> in the future . <br /> Paul asked about the paving schedule for trails . Barry showed <br /> the board a map he received from Dave Ahrens on the trails <br /> scheduled to be done in 1997 . Paul asked the number of feet that <br /> will be paved this fall . Barry did not have an answer for him. <br /> Paul asked Barry to bring that information to the next meeting. <br /> Sharon asked if this paving will connect some dead-end trails . <br /> Joe responded yes . <br /> YMCA - UPDATE: <br /> Barry explained at the last Park Board meeting members asked for <br /> an update of the proposed YMCA building in the City 'of Lino <br /> r� Lakes . <br /> He said Mary Divine mentioned to him the findings from the <br /> initial interviews . The conclusion was that there were not <br /> enough large businesses in the community to lend large monetary <br /> support for this project . He said that does not mean this <br /> project is not moving forward. The Community Development <br /> Department is continually meeting with representatives from YMCA. <br /> Brian Wessel, Community Development Director, told him he will <br /> include the Parks and Recreation Department in future meeting <br /> with the YMCA group. <br /> Kim asked what it meant by not enough large businesses in Lino <br /> Lakes. Barry said YMCA looks at is large monetary donations from <br /> businesses to build their building. He said this was one of the <br /> questions on the survey. Joe asked if there was an alternative <br /> if there was not enough business in Lino Lakes . Barry said if <br /> and when the Parks and Recreation Department becomes involved in <br /> this project, he will let the board know. <br /> FRIENDS OF THE PARK UPDATE: <br /> Barry said the golfing event was very successful in spite of the <br /> rain. He said there were approximately 100 golfers. He <br /> anticipates this event will only grow larger in the future. <br /> 5 <br />
