Wessel
I noticed on the last Park Board Agenda that Paul Montain asked about
commercial park dedication. Just thought I would let you know that the practice
has been as follows:
If a project involves a subdivision request, such as Northern Wholesale,
Ad-Graphics, etc., as a part of the site plan review and minor subdivision request
we require a park dedication fee to be collected at the time the building permit is
issued. This amount of the dedication is outlined in the Park Dedication
Ordinance and is based on the type of use and/or square footage.
When there is no subdivision of the property involved, such as
construction on an existing lot of record, we can not charge a park dedication fee
according to State Statutes.
Hopefully this will answer Paul's question if you haven't already. If you need any
more information - let me know.
