He <br /> says the committee is sincere and coming to Lino Lakes in good <br /> faith. <br /> PARK BOARD GOALS TO CITY COUNCIL: <br /> After discussion it was decided that George would go to the <br /> January 22 , 1997, Work Session. He invited anyone from the Park <br /> Board to attend this meeting. <br /> The 1997 goals are set except the bridge in Wenzel Farms and the <br /> 1996 trail completion have been flip flopped. <br /> SENIOR HOUSING COTTAGES - OPEN SPACE: <br /> Marty explained that this item was looked at briefly at the <br /> September Park Board meeting. The board at that time thought <br /> this would be a good idea and to pursue it when the details were <br /> worked out . <br /> Council Member Neal has requested the board look at this in <br /> January. He included a map and letter from Mr. Terry Schmid of <br /> the Cottage Homesteads of Willow Ponds . <br /> Basically, Cottage Homesteads will deed this land to the city for <br /> the sum of $1 . 00 . From the original discussion of this site it <br /> was determined that the senior needed a small gathering spot for <br /> gardening, picnic tables, or other items . <br /> Marty thought this would suffice for these purposes and it has <br /> irrigation available. <br /> He said the criteria for a mini-park are marginal distance from a <br /> regional park, isolation by a busy road, and high density housing <br /> such as townhomes or senior cottage buildings . This area would <br /> meet all of these criteria. <br /> Marty said the options were to accept the transfer of land from <br /> the Cottage Homesteads of Willow Ponds for park purposes, refer <br /> back to staff for further review, or not accept this proposal . <br /> Marty recommend to accept the transfer of land from the Cottage <br /> Homesteads of Willow Ponds for park purposes . <br /> Mayor Landers wanted to know if there would be enough benefit to <br /> the City to take the land off the tax rolls .
