City of Lino Lakes <br /> Park Board Meeting <br /> January 6, 1997 <br /> about the pond and said he did not want to take on the <br /> responsibility or liability. <br /> The Park Board talked about trails, who would use the park area, <br /> and the cost to develop this area. <br /> MOTION: <br /> Paul Montain made a motion not to accept the transfer of land <br /> from the Cottage Homesteads of Willow Ponds for park purposes . <br /> Pam seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. <br /> George asked Marty to explain to Andy Neal that the land would <br /> be available to the seniors and they would not be excluded from <br /> using it . The seniors should talk to the developer if the <br /> maintenance of grass becomes a problem. <br /> TRAILS UPDATE• <br /> Trails Update: Marty said he attended the Anoka County Trails <br /> Coordination meeting. Anoka County is taking a lead on this <br /> issue. They have applied for a $4 . 1 million grant through the <br /> Metropolitan Council to fund trails in the regional park. If <br /> this happens we will see trail connections into the park. <br /> Trail Committee Update: Marty reported that Brian Bourassa has <br /> joined -the committee because Jodi Budde has a health problem and <br /> is unable to stay on the committee. Brian has offered to do a <br /> trail map for the City of Lino Lakes . <br /> Marty included a copy of the December 3, 1996 minutes in the Park <br /> Board members packets . <br /> Marty is working on a $100, 000 trail grant along Elm Street . He <br /> explained that it is due March 1, 1997 . The mayor stated he <br /> thought the school was putting in the trail from Sunrise to Lake <br /> Drive. Marty said there was a portion that goes into the <br /> regional park that he is working on, so between the City and the <br /> school district it will be completed. Marty said there is also a <br /> section of the trail that is going north on Lake Drive. <br /> Amy asked how the residents reacted to the Marshan Trail change <br /> in the Comprehensive Plan. Marty said the residents were O.K. <br /> with it . She wanted to know how many residents were affected by <br /> this trail . Marty thought it affected Mr. Winge, Mr. Rehbein and <br /> one other resident . She thought letters should be sent to the <br /> 4 <br />
