Marty said he would look into this <br /> matter. <br /> Marty went on to say he has been appointed to the Hugo <br /> Comprehensive Plan Committee and attended a meeting in Hugo. He <br /> said the greenway issue was brought up at that meeting. <br /> The next Trails Committee meeting is January 28, 1997, 6 : 30pm, at <br /> the Park and Recreation Building. <br /> PARK UPDATE- <br /> Marty reported that staff is trying to maintain the rinks, but, <br /> the weather is making it very difficult . <br /> Staff is also plowing trails . Sharon asked if we do the trails <br /> by the school . Marty said we do the walking trails . We have had <br /> so much snow this year we are running out of room to put it . <br /> He added the City is working with Supt . John McClellan on a usage <br /> agreement, for the new middle school, similar to the agreement we <br /> have at Rice Lake Elementary. <br /> RECREATION UPDATE: <br /> Barry said North Metro and Lino Lakes Park and Recreation <br /> Department is joining efforts to have programs on days school is <br /> out . There has been two ski trips planned. The first trip, to <br /> Wild Mountain, was very successful . <br /> The warminghouse shelters opened as of December 23 . He feels he <br /> has very good staff this year. He said the weather has been a <br /> factor in the attendance at the rinks . <br /> In regards to indoor gym space, Barry said the adult basketball <br /> league is up four teams this year, and the volleyball league is <br /> up 5 teams . He had to beg the high school for an additional gym. <br /> He went on to say that there are several other winter programs <br /> starting this Saturday. Some of the classes are, Snack and <br /> Skate, Hockey Skill Development, Basket Have a Ball, aerobics and <br /> Tai Chi . <br /> Member Taschuk asked what the "Hotline" number is . Barry <br /> explained what the "Hotline" is and gave them the phone number. <br /> 5 <br />
