e
CITY OF LINO LAKES
PARK BOARD MEETING
,. DECEMBER 2, 1996
Pam asked if the kids involved were getting community service
credit . She suggested they talk to the vocational or business
teachers at the school to see if they could get credit for doing
this type of business venture.
Mitch did not have any questions . He thanked Marty for his help
and said he will contact him.
TRAILS UPDATE:
Trails Committee: George gave an update of the last Trails
Committee meeting. He said the committee discussed the concept
of trying to connect the north and south side of the city, the
bottle neck problem at the creek between Rice Lake and Baldwin
Lake, the provisions necessary to accommodate pedestrian traffic
over 35W, the proposed city center trail, north/south/east/west
trail connections, trying to utilize the county park that sits in
the middle of the city, the Washington County Trail project
running north and south of 61 and possibly connecting the
Clearwater Creek trail system to it, and the Marshan Trail issue.
n
He asked Marty if Brian Bourossa had been contacted to be on the
committee because another member had health problems and had to
resign. Marty said yes he had, and Brian will sit on the
committee .
Marshan Trail Re-alignment: Northwest Associated Consultants
have been working with the city of Lino Lakes on the revisions
for the City Comprehensive Plan. One of the issues that needs to
be resolved is trail alignment in reference to pedestrian and
bicycle transportation to the City Center development at 35W and
Lake Drive.
Marty continued by saying the portion of the trail that is in
question is the section that would extend north from the Shores
of Marshan Development around Marshan Lake. Please refer to
figure 6 . 3 Park and Trail System Plan, Trail Section #18 .
Trail Section 18 is intended to be located within a linear trail
corridor that begins at Aqua lane and runs north-northeast
following the shoreline of Marshan Lake, the edge of the
wetlands, and on the northern most segment, directly adjacent to
or within the regional park. The intention of this trail was to
present an opportunity to use the linear trail concept to its
3
