City of Lino Lakes <br /> Park Board Meeting <br /> November 4, 1996 <br /> wanted to know if the Park Board could use that money. Marty <br /> said the City Council will hear requests on a per issue basis . <br /> Barry was asked if he loses money in the winter. Barry said we <br /> do O.K. but generally do not lose money. He feel he would make <br /> more money if he had facility space . <br /> George asked about the playground program. He wanted to know why <br /> there was a loss for that program. Barry said we served over <br /> 2800 kids in the 1996 summer playground program. That is a cost <br /> of $6 . 50/child. The funds come from the general revenue fund. <br /> George said Barry does a great job. <br /> r <br /> Barry thanked the Park Board for letting him come before them to <br /> give this report . <br /> FRIENDS OF THE PARK UPDATE: <br /> Marty reported that there had not been a Friends of the Park <br /> meeting since the last Park Board meeting. However, they are <br /> going to apply again for a Target Grant . <br /> PARK UPDATE- <br /> Country Lakes Park: Joe said this is a very beautiful park now <br /> and people should use it . Marty said he has heard from residents <br /> that it looks good but when are they going to get more amenities <br /> in the park. <br /> Trail Pavincr: Marty said there is a contract bid that is tied <br /> into the Clearwater Creek project . Weather is not cooperating to <br /> enable us to get this done at present . <br /> He said staff is getting ready for winter and doing things to <br /> prepare for this . I .e . : blowing water lines out, finishing the <br /> berm in Birchwood, etc . <br /> Shoreview Covenant Church: Marty reported the City Council said <br /> no to the Park Boards recommendation and no to the lease and Sac <br /> and Wac charges . <br /> Rice Creek Estates: The master plan has been approved by both <br /> the Circle Pines and Lino Lakes boards . Marty said it is going <br /> to the Circle Pines Park Board meeting in November. <br /> Marty has met with Dave Phipps on this park. He has also been <br /> meeting with residents . Mr. Ed Sparr is not satisfied with the <br /> 6 <br />
