City of Lino Lakes <br /> Park Board Meeting <br /> November 4, 1996 <br /> The Park Board then voted in support or opposition to put the <br /> petition on the December agenda for discussion. The following is <br /> the outcome of the vote . <br /> Petition #1 (Basketball Court) George, Amy, Joe, Pam, Betty, and <br /> Sharon supported this item. Paul was opposed. PASSED <br /> Petition #2 (Hockey Rink) All members were opposed to this item. <br /> FAILED <br /> Petition #3 (Skinned Ballfield) George, Amy, Betty, Sharon, and <br /> Pam voted in support, Joe opposed. PASSED <br /> Petition #4 (Picnic Shelter) Pam, Paul, George, and Joe opposed, <br /> Betty abstained, and Sharon and Amy supported this issue . FAILED <br /> Petition #5 (Volleyball Court) All members voted in support of <br /> this issue. PASSED <br /> FORESTRY UPDATE: <br /> Marty told the board that 135 trees have been planted by Fair <br /> Nursery and they look very nice. He said he is ready to apply <br /> for Tree City Status . <br /> George asked if residents are notified when they are going to get <br /> a tree. Marty said yes they are sent letters . <br /> RECREATION UPDATE: <br /> Barry did an overhead presentation entitled Lino Lakes Parks and <br /> Recreation 1996 year in review. There were 4 divisions of his <br /> report . The first was purpose, then personnel, participation and <br /> lastly process . He then gave an overview of recreational <br /> opportunities, did a program recap for 1996, and stood for <br /> questions . <br /> Paul said the Little League does screen its coaches and wanted to <br /> know if Barry did that also. Barry said currently he does not on <br /> staff under the age of 18, but, does a criminal investigation for <br /> people over the age of 18 . He then hires on a Police Department <br /> recommendation. He said all coaches are certified through the <br /> National Youth Coaches Association. (NYCA) <br /> Joe said it was a very good report . It shows that $10, 591 profit <br /> was made from the programs and wanted to know where the money <br /> goes . Marty said it is put in a special revenue fund. Joe <br /> 5 <br />
