aA. <br /> City of Lino Lakes <br /> Park Board Meeting <br /> r--�Y September 4, 1996 <br /> The September 4, 1996, City of Lino Lakes Park Board meeting was <br /> called to order at 6 :35pm, by Chair, George Lindy. <br /> Roll call was taken, members present were George Lindy, Paul <br /> Montain, Pam Taschuk, Betty Piper, Joe Schmidt, and Sharon Lane . <br /> Also present were Marty Asleson, Park, Recreation, and Forestry <br /> Coordinator, Barry Bernstein, Recreation Program Supervisor, and <br /> Sandie Wood, Recording Secretary. Not present was Amy Donlin. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM AUGUST, 5, 1996 : <br /> Pam Taschuk made a motion to approve the August 5, 1996 minutes <br /> as written. Betty Piper seconded the motion and the minutes were <br /> approved unanimously. <br /> OPEN MIKE- <br /> There was no one present for open mike. <br /> There were a few residents from the Birchwood/Park Grove Park <br /> neighborhood in the audience. They informed the board they were <br /> there to show support of the parks master plan. There were <br /> n rumors going around that g g petitions were going to be brought <br /> before the Park Board and they wanted to see what they were . No <br /> petitions were presented. George informed the residents what the <br /> process is and what will happen when the petitions are brought to <br /> the Park Board. <br /> NEW BUSINESS• <br /> Matt Noren, Eagle Scout Project: Matt is from Boy Scout Troop <br /> 136 . He has approached the City of Lino Lakes on building an <br /> extension onto the existing playground structure at Lino Park for <br /> his Eagle Scout project . Matt prepared a drawing of his project <br /> and intends to do some fund-raising this winter. He will start <br /> the project next spring/summer. <br /> Matt came before the board and diagrammed his project on the <br /> chalk board. George asked what type of base he would be using. <br /> Matt replied it would be pea rock. <br /> The approximate cost is $1, 850 . 00 . Matt said he would be sending <br /> a letter to the residents on Vicki Lane and Lake Drive. If he <br /> does not receive enough donations he will be looking at other <br /> resources . It was suggested that he look to the Friends of the <br /> Park, the Lions Club, and Lino Lakes VFW for additional funds, if <br /> needed. <br /> 1 <br />
