City of Lino Lakes
Park Board Meeting
n May 4, 1998
Pat stated that replacement of park equipment is a high priority.
This was a great opportunity that the Park Board does not often
get.
Paul agreed that Shenandoah Park and Birch Park were their top
priorities .
Chair Lindy noted that the money for the equipment did not come
from dedicated funds . It was received from another source.
Pam indicated that the Park Board should use the funds for
replacement equipment since it would be difficult to justify
spending the money on new parks if they do not maintain the older
parks .
Chair Lindy addressed the issue of park usage, noting that Lino
Park is a heavily used park that was in need of some equipment .
Pam noted that Lino Park does have programming for athletics .
Sharon also noted that Lino Park is a long distance from any
other park.
Chair Lindy stated that the Park Board would like to use the
funds for Shenandoah Park, Birch Park, and Lino Park.
Paul indicated that Arena Park would be next on the list. The
residents should be made aware of that.
Rick asked that the Park Board put a dollar figure on each park.
He recommended allocating approximately $27, 600 for equipment in
a typical neighborhood park and $30, 000 for equipment in a
programmed park.
Paul Montain made a motion, seconded by Pam Taschuk, to allot
$34, 700 to replace equipment at Shenandoah Park; $36, 281 to
replace equipment at Birch Park; $37, 500 to replace equipment at
Lino Park. The motion was approved unanimously.
REVIEW GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:
After a discussion, the Park Board determined their 1998 Goals
and Priorities as the following:
PARK DESCRIPTION AMOUNT
Behm' s Century Farm Base map, grade, master $38, 000 (d)
plan
5
