The minutes were approved.
OPEN MIKE •
There was no one present for open mike .
AGENDA ADDITION:
Paul requested the addition of the Comprehensive Plan under Old
Business .
REVIEW OF PRELIMINARY PLAT - LAKE BUSINESS PARK:
Rick DeGardner introduced Kirk Corson of Rehbein Excavating,
explaining that Kirk would be presenting the Lake Business Park
Preliminary Plat . Kirk stated that there are three trail
alternatives, one to continue the trail from the school property
along 35W. Issues with this route would be development north of
the drainage ditch, and open view of the freeway from the trail .
The second alternative would be to use the same route, coming
north or south across the ditch. The issue with that alternative
is ownership of the homesteads abutting Lake Drive on the east
side of the subject property. The third and most promising
alternative is to continue the trail north from the school
property adjacent to the wetland area, creating a trail in a
natural area along the roadway and wetlands . However, the
drawback would be the crossing of several industrial site
driveways .
George requested additional information regarding the precise
location of the proposed trail . Kirk clarified through use of a
map of the area that the trail would be constructed northeast of
the school property.
Paul asked about traffic from the homestead sites . Kirk stated
that, given the small size of the sites, it was unlikely that
there would be much traffic.
Paul then asked about the schedule for development. Kirk
explained that work is scheduled for the summer of 1998 . He added
that at least four lots would be developed with two outlots,
1
