Criteria for naming parks: <br /> 1 . Significant or unique characteristic of the park <br /> 2 . Historical features relating to parcel <br /> 3 . According to name of adjacent housing development (s) <br /> 4 . According to location or street name <br /> 5. Names of a community service organization <br /> 6. Names that represent quality of life in Lino Lakes <br /> 7 . Environmental names which may represent the name of animals or <br /> trees in the area <br /> Only under significant circumstances will consideration be given <br /> to renaming parks after individuals and/or organized groups, <br /> associations, or businesses . To be considered, the individual, <br /> group, association or business, must have made a significant and <br /> exceptional contribution to the park involved or the community <br /> as a whole. Such contributions should be for recreational <br /> purposes . <br /> In addition, recognition plaques, memorial plaques, or <br /> dedications, may be placed throughout the park system at the <br /> discretion of the Parks and Recreation Director with the <br /> recommendation of the Park Board. <br /> 2/23/98 <br /> sw/mw/sandies folder/rick/draft of park naming ordinance.doc <br />
