CITY31—y—
INOIAK6
February 24, 1998
TO: Park Board Members
FROM: Mike Hoffman
SUBJECT : Centennial Middle School Update
On Friday, February 20, 1998, Rick DeGardner and I met with Bob
Cierzon, Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds, to express our
concerns with some of the athletic fields .
Our primary concern is with the levelness of some of the soccer
fields . They are quite uneven and we fear someone could be
injured if we program activities on them. Other concerns
include: Buried debris (mostly wood) coming to the surface, a
n washout in right center field on the baseball field, seeded
areas that are coming in extremely thin, and gaining access to
the control panel for the irrigation system.
Bob stated he will meet with the contractor to see if these
problems can be rectified.
On Monday, February 23, 1998, I met with Don Belkengren, of Turf
Supply Company, to discuss fertilization needs at the Middle
School . Don will make a recommendation based on soil sample
results taken from each playing field. I will update you as the
information comes back to me.
2/23/98
sw/mw/sandies folder/parkbrd/Centennial Middle School Update.doc
PARK, RECREATION, FORESTRY, & RECYCLING DEPARTMENTS
7204 Lake Drive • Lino Lakes, Minnesota • 55014
Phone: 617-780-1885 • Fax: 612-784-7227
