City of Lino Lakes
Park Board Meeting
February 2 , 1998
ECFE Project Status - Rick explained that there had been
questions regarding the JU3 property, and that according to John
McClellan there is no immediate plan but that within the next
three to five years the school district will have a permanent use
established.
George suggested that there is no urgency for a recreation area
for the Pheasant Hills area. Paul agreed, suggesting that the
1998 season would prove the need for future additional
facilities .
Use of Pheasant Hills Dedicated Funds for ECFE Project - Rick
explained that the Pheasant Hills dedication fund was earmarked
for a JU3 park and, since that possibility is no longer feasible,
that money could be best put to another use. George suggested
helping with the completion of the Pheasant Hills trail system
and earmarking the balance of the fund for future JU3
development.
Clearwater Creek Trail - Update - Rick pointed out that the City
Council approved the trail easement for Clearwater Creek,
according to the Park Board' s recommendation.
Anoka Electric Easement - Update - Rick explained that this
easement was also approved by the City Council, and that the City
will receive "in-kind" services from Anoka Electric on identified
projects . He added that the intent is for "in-kind" service to
be within the park system; however, should another City
department present an urgent need, it would be considered.
Comprehensive Plan - George explained that the Park Board should
have representation on the Comprehensive Plan Task Force, and
that Paul had offered to act as one representative. Rick
explained that two Board members should participate. George
stated that the group will continue to seek additional
representation.
NEW BUSINESS:
None
SCHEDULE NEXT PARK BOARD MEETING:
The next Park Board meeting will be held on March 2, 1998,
6 : 30pm, at the Lino Lakes City Hall .
7
