^ Dance Class
This program started off a little shaky. The school district did not schedule an employee
to open the school building on the first day of class, but since this has been corrected and
the class is operating very smoothly.
Softball Pitching Clinic
I am amazed on how popular this program is. This winter we had to make an additional
session for this program. The instructor is outstanding and the participants are
responding to her teaching techniques.
Hockey Skills Development
Volunteer coaches instruct young children in the areas of hockey skills. This program is
held at Sunrise Park. It is very enjoyable to see five and six year olds skating around and
attempting to play hockey.
Baskets"Have a Ball"
We redeveloped this program from last year and what an improvement. It was
anticipated that 30 or so children would register for this program, but we have 30 kids in
each sessions. We are using a mix of paid and volunteer coaches and I believe this
system is working out well.
Ski Trips
^ Our ski trip offerings this winter have averaged about 45 people per trip. This is a perfect
number of participants for our four staff to supervise. These trips are very popular and
will be looked into attempting to offer more trips in the future.
Aerobics (wellness) programs
We are always trying to be on top of the current trends in the fitness arena. The several
class offerings have been a staple with this department for a long time. With the addition
of a season pass, registration has increased. The season pass allows a participant to pick
and choose the classes they would like to attend.
Team Co-Rec Volleyball
Our volleyball program has increased by two teams this winter. We have several
returning teams from years past. I hope to increase participation numbers in the future.
Open Volleyball
This allows a person to participate in a volleyball program that does not demand a steady
commitment. This winter we are offering two separate programs, power volleyball
program for the more skilled players and a recreational volleyball program for the up and
coming volleyball players. Attendance has been strong in both programs.
Adult Team Basketball
The season is winding down rapidly. With only a couple of weeks left in the season,
^ teams will be participating in a playoff. I am expecting this league will continue to grow
in the future.
