City of Lino Lakes
Park Board Meeting
December 1, 1997
1998 Park Board Meeting Schedule: Joe asked if the September
1998 meeting could be held on August 31, 1998 . He also thought
there would be a problem with the July meeting because of the 4th
being on Saturday. The meeting was set for July 6 and if there
was a problem it would be discussed at a future meeting. Several
members liked the idea of setting the meeting schedule for the
next year.
The board set the meetings for the first Monday of each month
except September. That months meeting will be held on August 31 .
Clearwater Creek Business Center: Rick explained that Gerald
Rehbein had submitted a preliminary plat for the Clearwater Creek
Business Center. This is a commercial project .
He said, based on the dedication ordinance, the developer shall
pay to the city $200 . 00 for each 1, 000 square feet of proposed
building. The park dedication will be determined when the
developer is issued the building permits .
Rick explained he had included a copy of the preliminary plat,
grading and erosion control plan, and the ordinance pertaining to
park dedication. He said this was information for members and
does not require action from the board.
Sharon asked if Rick had heard if there were any businesses
interested in this center. Rick had not but Paul said he heard
there were 2 businesses interested.
Paul asked how Ordinance 05-91 compared to other cities . George
asked Rick to check with several surrounding cities to get a
comparison. Paul thought it might be time to revisit this issue.
Teen Center: Sharon thought the possibility of a teen center in
Lino Lakes should be researched. She said a center is very
important . She was wondering if there was a possibility of a
business donating a building for this use. Rick did not think
this was feasible, however, he has noticed in Planning and Zoning
Board minutes that a teen center has been discussed.
'^ Rick said this may be an item to place in a Parks and Recreation
Referendum. Sharon said that was too far off and did not want to
wait that long. She is interested in working on this issue.
Betty said a "Teen Center" committee has been formed in the
4
