CITY OF LINO LAKES POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: Park Board Member - DEPARTMENT: Public Services DIVISION: Park and Recreation C I T Y; O F SUPERVISOR: City Council NC)l KE STATUS: Volunteer PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION The Park and Recreation Board provide advice to the city council on matters relating to recreational programs;park acquisition,planning and development. This seven member advisory board is established by Lino Lakes City Code- chapter 211. Members are appointed by the city council to serve staggered three year terms. The Park Board meets the first Monday of each month, at 6:30 p.m. in the Lino Lakes City Council Chambers. Compensation is$150.00 per quarter for board members, and $225.00 for the chairperson. rESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS l. Develop plans for the physical development of all present and future city parks, based on the projected recreational needs of the city and its citizens. The plans shall include a topographical lay-out of the park and all facilities,plus development cost estimates, a proposed development time schedule, and an annual operating budget. 2. Develop policies and plans for a long-range city park acquisition program. The plan shall be consistent with city's Comprehensive Land Use Plan and Park Dedication Policy. The completed program shall include probable needed park locations, sizes and facilities plus acquisition and development costs estimates,to include landscaping and equipment felt necessary; and a policy statement supporting the long-range plan. 3. Develop policies concerning residential use of city park facilities. 4. Gather information concerning the conditions and trends in the quality of the environment, both current and prospective, with the purpose of determining whether 5. Act as liaison between the council and people or organizations which may wish to use, care for,have recommendations for the use of parks,or donate personnel,monies or equipment for parks and recreation in the city.
