lob. <br /> CITY OF LINO LAKES <br /> POSITION DESCRIPTION <br /> TITLE: Park Board Member - <br /> DEPARTMENT: Public Services <br /> DIVISION: Park and Recreation C I T Y; O F <br /> SUPERVISOR: City Council NC)l KE <br /> STATUS: Volunteer <br /> PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION <br /> The Park and Recreation Board provide advice to the city council on matters relating to <br /> recreational programs;park acquisition,planning and development. <br /> This seven member advisory board is established by Lino Lakes City Code- chapter 211. <br /> Members are appointed by the city council to serve staggered three year terms. <br /> The Park Board meets the first Monday of each month, at 6:30 p.m. in the Lino Lakes City <br /> Council Chambers. Compensation is$150.00 per quarter for board members, and $225.00 for <br /> the chairperson. <br /> rESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS <br /> l. Develop plans for the physical development of all present and future city parks, based <br /> on the projected recreational needs of the city and its citizens. The plans shall include <br /> a topographical lay-out of the park and all facilities,plus development cost estimates, <br /> a proposed development time schedule, and an annual operating budget. <br /> 2. Develop policies and plans for a long-range city park acquisition program. The plan <br /> shall be consistent with city's Comprehensive Land Use Plan and Park Dedication Policy. <br /> The completed program shall include probable needed park locations, sizes and facilities <br /> plus acquisition and development costs estimates,to include landscaping and equipment <br /> felt necessary; and a policy statement supporting the long-range plan. <br /> 3. Develop policies concerning residential use of city park facilities. <br /> 4. Gather information concerning the conditions and trends in the quality of the <br /> environment, both current and prospective, with the purpose of determining whether <br /> 5. Act as liaison between the council and people or organizations which may wish to use, <br /> care for,have recommendations for the use of parks,or donate personnel,monies or <br /> equipment for parks and recreation in the city. <br />
