Once again playground site preparation and installation has been <br /> priority#1 during the month of October. The Lino Park playground was installed on Saturday, <br /> October 3. Once again volunteers, city staff and a professional installer worked together to <br /> assemble the equipment. City maintenance staff then poured the concrete footings, installed the <br /> Kid Timber retaining wall system and added the resilient surfacing material. In addition a 4' <br /> concrete sidewalk has been installed between the kids timbers and the parking lot. A 4' high <br /> chain link fence has also been installed between the sidewalk and parking lot to protect <br /> playground users from the cars in the parking lot. If you are a Vikings fan you will love the <br /> colors of this equipment. PURPLE PRIDE!!! <br /> The playground is not the only new addition to Lino Park. Maintenance staff also poured players <br /> bench and bleacher pads at the ballfield and also installed new aluminum benches. Stop by Lino <br /> Park and check out the new improvements. I think you'll be impressed. <br /> The playground install scheduled for Saturday, October 24th (Rice Lake Estates)had to be <br /> postponed due to a fire at the playground manufacturing plant. As a result our order could not be <br /> delivered in time. However, we have been told we can expect delivery during the week of <br /> October 26th. We are hoping to install on Saturday, October 31. <br /> Other maintenance highlights for October include: <br /> • Soccer field layout and painting <br /> • Mowing and garbage pickup of all park areas <br /> • Trails inspection and repair <br /> • Trail sweeping <br /> • Winterizing of irrigation systems <br /> And finally a sincere thank you goes out to Marco Perzichilli for donating his time and energy <br /> for the City Hall Park sign project. Marco chose the sign project for this Eagle Scout Service <br /> Project. Marco did a great job organizing the project, from planning to fundraising, to the actual <br /> installation of the sign and landscaping.
