City of Lino Lakes <br /> Park Board Meeting <br /> October 5, 1998 <br /> The October 5, 1998 City of Lino Lakes Park Board meeting was <br /> called to order at 6 : 30pm, by Chair George Lindy. <br /> Roll call was taken, members present were Jeff Reinert, Pam <br /> Taschuk, Sharon Lane, Pat Huelman, Joe Schmidt, and Paul Montain. <br /> Also present were Rick DeGardner, Public Services Director, and <br /> Sandie Wood, Office Manager. <br /> APPROVAL OF August 3, 1998 MINUTES: <br /> Sharon Lane made a motion, seconded by Pam Taschuk, to approve <br /> the August 3 , 1998 minutes . The minutes were approved. <br /> Mayor Sullivan came forward and stated that the Webelo Scouts <br /> Pack #103 was present to observe the meeting to earn their <br /> Citizens Badge . She asked Chair Lindy to explain what the Park <br /> Board does . <br /> Chair Lindy stated that the Park Board is made up of appointed <br /> volunteers that are residents of Lino Lakes . The main <br /> responsibility of the Park Board is to make recommendations to <br /> the City Council regarding land acquisition for park development <br /> and overseeing park development . The Park Board is an advisory <br /> board only that is responsible for parks, trails, and trail <br /> maintenance . <br /> Tyler Corson came forward and asked if the Park Board plans to <br /> make more parks . Pam stated the Park Board wants to develop more <br /> parks but there is not much land left in the City of Lino Lakes . <br /> She stated the Park Board struggles to meet the needs of the <br /> residents of Lino Lakes . Typically, if there is new development <br /> a new park is developed also. <br /> Marty Swan came forward and stated that Safety Camp was very good <br /> this year. He stated he learned a lot, played games, received a <br /> medallion, and had a lot of fun. He stated the camp should not <br /> be changed for next year. <br /> SETTING THE AGENDA: <br /> The agenda was passed as presented. <br /> OPEN MIKEā€¢ <br /> Chair Lindy explained that open mike is an opportunity for <br /> citizens to address any issue or topic that is not on the agenda. <br /> n <br /> No one was present for open mike. <br /> 1 <br />
