COUNCIL MINUTES SEPTEMBER 14, 1998 <br /> Mayor Sullivan reminded those present of the guidelines for audience participation in City <br /> Council meetings, emphasizing the need for respectful dialog. <br /> OPEN MIKE <br /> No one appeared for open mike. <br /> COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT <br /> PUBLIC HEARING, Vacate a portion of Drainage Easement, 1270 Chokecherry Road - <br /> Ms. Wyland stated the property owner at 1270 Chokecherry Road, Lot 2, Block 4, Brandywood <br /> Estates, would like to construct a third stall to his existing two (2) car garage. The existing <br /> garage, however, was constructed up to a large drainage and utility easement. Mr. Barton is <br /> therefore asking the City to vacation 14 feet of this drainage and utility easement to facilitate the <br /> proposed construction. <br /> Ms. Wyland stated that staff asked the Consulting Engineer on this project, SEH, to review the <br /> request and make a recommendation. Mr. Frank Bodine has submitted a letter indicating that <br /> vacation of 14 feet of this easement is possible with the condition that the remainder of the <br /> easement is not disturbed. <br /> Mayor Sullivan opened the public hearing at 6:34 p.m. There were no comments. <br /> Council Member Lyden moved to close the public hearing at 6:35 p.m. Council Member Dahl <br /> seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Consideration of Resolution No. 98 - 151,Vacating the Drainage Easement, 1270 <br /> Chokecherry Road - Ms. Wyland stated that staff recommends approval of Resolution No. 98 - <br /> 151, vacating a portion of a drainage and utility easement on 1270 Chokecherry Road. <br /> Council Member Dahl moved to adopt Resolution No. 98 - 151, as presented. Council Member <br /> Lyden seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Resolution No. 98 - 151 can be found at the end of these minutes. <br /> Comprehensive Plan Update, Brian Wessel- Mr. Wessel stated the schedule for the <br /> Comprehensive Plan meetings has not changed. There are two (2) meetings left in September. <br /> The next one is September 16, 1998. The final meeting this month is on September 24, 1998. <br /> The intent is to have a recommendation and public hearing at the October, 1998, Planning & <br /> Zoning Board meeting. The Comprehensive Plan will come before the Council on October 26, <br /> 1998. He stated the Task Force is on schedule with the Comprehensive Plan and schedules of <br /> meetings are available at City Hall. <br /> Mayor Sullivan asked if there are openings available for the Vision Bus Tour. Mr. Wessel <br /> indicated there are openings available. <br /> 2 <br />
