City of Lino Lakes <br /> Park Board Meeting <br /> July 6, 1998 <br /> Review Park and Trails Map - Rick referred to a parks and trails <br /> system guide that was distributed to all Park Board members . He <br /> noted that the map includes all trails scheduled for paving later <br /> this year. <br /> Discussion of Cooperative Venture for Athletic Complex - Rick <br /> explained that discussion began last week regarding a particular <br /> parcel of land owned by the North Oaks Company. North Oaks <br /> Company would like to donate some land for an athletic complex. <br /> North Oaks Company has approached the City of Lino Lakes and <br /> White Bear Township. He indicated he wanted to inform the Board <br /> of the discussion and get some feedback regarding continuing <br /> discussions . <br /> Paul asked what the total acreage of the land is . Rick stated <br /> the total is approximately 30 acres . The land is located at the <br /> southwest intersection of County Road J and Centerville Road. It <br /> is possible to acquire more land for the complex through a sale <br /> of the land or possible land dedication. The entire land parcel <br /> is within the City of Lino Lakes. <br /> Chair Lindy stated that an athletic complex is a big issue with <br /> the City Council . He indicated that he has promised the City <br /> Council that by the end of the summer the Board will have a <br /> secured option to purchase land or have exhausted all efforts to <br /> secure an appropriate parcel for an athletic complex within the <br /> City of Lino Lakes . He asked if the North Oaks Company is <br /> looking for joint use within an athletic complex. <br /> Rick explained that the discussions have not yet gotten into <br /> detail . He stated that he would like to know if the City of Lino <br /> Lakes is interested in pursuing this option. <br /> Pat noted there could be potential income from renting the <br /> athletic complex for tournaments . <br /> It was the consensus of the Park Board to continue discussions <br /> with North Oaks Company and White Bear Township regarding an <br /> athletic complex at the intersection of County Road J and <br /> Centerville Road. <br /> Comprehensive Plan Update -Paul explained that the Comprehensive <br /> Plan for the City of Lino Lakes needs to be completed by year <br /> end, 1998 . There have been many meetings over the last several <br /> months . Representatives from City Boards and residents have been <br /> involved with the development of the Comprehensive Plan. A <br /> Comprehensive Plan is basically a land use policy. It includes a <br /> '1 plan for what to do with the land as well as the rate of growth. <br /> Over the next few weeks the Comprehensive Plan will be drafted <br /> and presented to the City Council .
