Summer Program <br /> �, .. NigF�ligF�ts <br /> 0 <br /> �! • The final tally for our t-ball program was 368 <br /> participating in 16 different sessions. <br /> • Fall softball registration has been completed and we <br /> currently have 25 teams registered. This number has <br /> been consistent over the past few years. <br /> • The summer softball season has been completed with the <br /> asxception of playoff games. I heard several positive comments regarding <br /> this program. This year's program was at capacity. I am very confident that <br /> this program could support a larger facility. <br /> • Our golf lessons this year were hard to complete due to the weather. Some <br /> eople who registered for certain classes were unable to complete their class. <br /> efunds were issued. <br /> Safety Camp preparation is complete and at the present time, we have <br /> approximately 85 participants registered. <br /> • Performance in the Parks has concluded.It is estimated we averaged about 150 <br /> people per performance. This would be up from years past. <br /> • Early Bird registration for fall soccer has concluded. We have well over 300 participants currently <br /> registered. The program numbers are consistent with last fall. <br /> • Open Playground Program <br /> - We have served approximately 1800 children as of July 23, 1998 at our eight playground sites. <br /> - We will conclude our summer with a"World's Fair" carnival on July 30, 1998. The summer play <br /> ground season will officially end July 31, 1998. <br /> • Traveling Playground Program <br /> - Baldwin Park site was closed July 10, 1998 due to low attendance numbers. Dave Phipps of Circle <br /> Pines was notified and agreed with this decision. <br /> - Golden Lake site was expanded to 4 days a week, M-Th, to accommodate for high attendance. <br /> • Wild Away For A Day Trips <br /> - Three"Wild Away For A Day Trips" were held this summer with participant numbers increasing with <br /> each trip. <br /> Minnesota Zoo and Imation IMAX July 08, 1998 - 17 participants <br /> Hayride and Bonfire at Diamond T Ranch, July 15, 1998 - 24 participants <br /> St. Louis Park Rec. Center Aquatic Park, July 22, 1998 - 40 participants <br /> • Preschool Playtime ended July 14, 1998. 15 children, ages 3-5, participated in this program. Sessions <br /> focused on using the participant's senses. A visit by a Centennial Lakes Fire Truck helped close out <br /> the program. <br /> • Soccer "Fun"damentals ended July 14, 1998. 47 children, ages 4-7, participated in this program. <br /> Participants learned basic soccer skills, the concept of team play and participated in soccer games. <br /> • Fall Programs <br /> Teen Activities: <br /> Rock Climbing event scheduled for September 18, 1998 <br /> Overnight camping trip scheduled for October 15 - 16, 1998 <br /> Halloween Event scheduled for October 29, 1998 <br /> - Thanksgiving "Turkey Shoot" scheduled for November 14, 1998 <br /> - "Breakfast with Santa" scheduled for December 12, 1998 - this year we will also be participating in <br /> the Toys for Tots program. <br /> Questions?Please feel free to contact Barry or Liz at 780-1885. <br />
