s -
rt
June 16, 1998
Lino Lakes Park Board
Lino Lakes City Hall
1187 Main St
Lino Lakes, MN 55014
Dear Park Board:
In 1990 a few interested residents of Circle Pines, Blaine, Centerville, Lino Lakes,
and Lexington formed a grassroots environmental organization called
"Earthkeepers" and organized the first annual Earth Day cleanup and
beautification efforts in these cities. During the following years, Anoka County
began its Adopt-a-Mile and the various cities followed with their own Adopt-a-Park
programs. The annual Earth Day cleanup has continued in some of the cities. We
.-,. felt Earthkeepers was influential in these successes.
In 1993, with the formal programs going as well as other various city-sponsored
events, Earthkeepers disbanded. We disbanded with a positive bank account.
Therefore, we are writing a check to the five city park boards in the hope that you
will use this money for beautification of your city--whether it be cleaning up trash
or planting daylilies in the ditches! Your portion is $128.17.
Sincerely,
Mavis Hogstad
Earthkeepers Treasurer
