/Oa
Lino Lakes Parks and Recreation Department
7204 Lake Drive
CITY O F Lino Lakes, MN 55014
N KE (612) 780-1885 Fax (612) 784-7227
L1 .June 25, 1998
TO: Park Board Members
FROM: Rick DeGardner, Parks and Recreation Director
SUBJECT: Review of New Playground Equipment Bids
City Council awarded the playground equipment bids at the June 22, 1998 Council meeting.
There were five companies submitting proposals for the three playground sites being upgraded
this year. The playground equipment X roposals were on display at the Parks and Recreation
Building from June 11 through the 16 . Neighborhood residents and Park Board Members were
invited to review the proposals, make comments, and provide input on the selection of the
projects.
The playground equipment projects were awarded as follows:
Lino Park—Minnesota/Wisconsin Playground, Inc. (Game Time) in the amount of$30,000
Birch Park—Minnesota/Wisconsin Playground, Inc. (Game Time) in the amount of$30,000
Shenandoah Park—Flanagan Sales, Inc. (Little Tikes) in the amount of$27,600
The above vendors offered the City of Lino Lakes the best package of playground equipment.
Evaluations were based on a number of factors including equipment quality and quantity, safety
considerations, aesthetic appeal, and the play experience provided.
I met with area residents on Thursday, June 25 to select playground colors. It is anticipated to
begin installation of the playground equipment sometime in August. We have had sufficient
response for volunteers to assist with the installation of equipment at Birch Park and Shenandoah
Park. However, we have had no response for Lino Park.
sw/parkbrd/Review of New Playground Equipment Bids.doc
