City of Lino Lakes <br /> Park Board Meeting <br /> June 1 , 1998 <br /> storm would not change the Park Board goals and priorities . The <br /> storm did, however, put the Parks and Recreation Department <br /> behind schedule. The Parks and Recreation Department is trying <br /> to catch up in order to accomplish all projects scheduled for <br /> this summer. <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Rice Creek Watershed District Brochure - Rick distributed a <br /> brochure published by the Rice Creek Watershed District . <br /> Hiring of Mr. Anderson - Park Maintenance Worker - Rick stated <br /> that applications for the General Maintenance Worker - Parks <br /> Department position were accepted through April 20, 1998 . Sixty- <br /> seven applications were submitted. <br /> The top 11 candidates were given first interviews on May 5-6, <br /> 1998 . Three finalists were invited back for a second interview <br /> with Rick and Dan Tesch on May 12, 1996. Rick stated that he has <br /> determined that Mr. Tim Anderson is the most qualified and would <br /> best fit the Parks Department needs . Mr. Anderson has worked for <br /> the Ramsey County Parks and Recreation Department for the past 13 <br /> years . He has extensive training on a wide variety of equipment . <br /> The position provides for a beginning salary of $12 . 97/hour plus <br /> benefits . This position would be eligible for membership in the <br /> 49' ers Union. Mr. Anderson accepted the position and began <br /> today, June 1, 1998 . <br /> Rice Lake Estates Resident Letter - Rick informed the Park Board <br /> that he his requesting input from area residents in determining <br /> the priority regarding park amenities . The master plan indicates <br /> a need for playground equipment, a half court basketball court, <br /> and a tennis court. It appears that some additional money will <br /> be available this year to continue the development of Rice Lake <br /> Estates Park. Rick distributed the Rice Lake Estates resident <br /> letter to the Park Board. He stated that the letter will be <br /> mailed to residents in the next couple of days . <br /> Pam asked if Rick will be meeting with the residents after he has <br /> received their list of priorities . Rick indicated that he would <br /> not need to meet with residents . If the half court basketball <br /> court or tennis court is the resident' s first priority, he will <br /> meet with the engineers regarding location. If playground <br /> equipment is the resident' s first priority, he will offer a <br /> viewing similar as to what the City is doing with Shenandoah <br /> Park, Birch Park, and Lino Park. <br /> 8 <br />
