City of Lino Lakes <br /> Park Board Meeting <br /> June 1, 1998 <br /> chosen according to playground safety specifications . There is a <br /> one-year warranty on service and repair. Reputable vendors do <br /> offer an extended warranty on the playground equipment . <br /> Jeff asked if about the City' s liability if volunteer' s installed <br /> the equipment as opposed to a professional. Rick indicated that <br /> a certified playground equipment instructor will be overseeing <br /> the installation. <br /> Pam asked if volunteering to help install the playground <br /> equipment would be considered community service for high school <br /> students . Rick indicated that helping with the installation <br /> would be community service. <br /> RECREATION DEPARTMENT UPDATE : <br /> Rick noted a memo from Barry Bernstein, Recreation Program <br /> Supervisor, and Liz Bursack, Program Supervisor. The memo <br /> entailed the Spring Program. The summer brochure is currently <br /> being printed and will be in resident' s homes the first week of <br /> June, 1998 . <br /> Rick noted that the Performance in the Park series will begin <br /> Sunday, June 6, 1998 . Jim Ruth Jazz will be performing from <br /> 6: OOpm until 7 : 30pm. He encouraged anyone attending to bring <br /> along a picnic basket and lawn chairs. The Performance in the <br /> Park series will continue throughout the summer. <br /> Rick noted Kite Day is Saturday, June 6, 1998 . The event will be <br /> held at Rice Lake School from 10 : 30am until noon. <br /> PARKS DEPARTMENT UPDATE : <br /> Rick gave a brief overview of a memo from Mike Hoffman, Lead <br /> Worker, Parks Maintenance, that summarized maintenance activity <br /> during May. The memo entailed damage caused from the storm on <br /> Friday, May 15, 1998 . The major push within the Maintenance <br /> Department has been storm cleanup both along City streets and <br /> within the City parks, to ensure the safety of park users and <br /> City residents . <br /> OLD BUSINESS: <br /> Review of 1998 Park Board Goals - Rick noted the 1998 Park Board <br /> Goals for the Park Board to review. He stated that Chair Lindy <br /> will address the City Council at the next Council Work Session to <br /> review the 1998 Park Board goals and priorities . <br /> Acting Chair Schmidt asked if the storm damage would effect the <br /> current Park Board goals and priorities .
