City of Lino Lakes Park Board Meeting June 7, 1999 Rick noted that 40 bare root trees were planted at Sunrise, Birchwood Acres, Shenandoah, and Birch Parks . Also accomplished was the completion of improvements to Sunrise Little League Fields #3 and #4 . Rick continued stating the playground equipment was installed at Marshan Park two weeks ago. The Parks Department is currently game prepping 10-12 ballfields daily which is a 6-8 hour process . Wenzel Farms Tree Clearing - Rick stated the Council designated $5, 000 to clear the trees within the trail easement that were damaged in last year' s storms . A resident of the Wenzel Farms Townhome Association owns a tree service and has submitted a quotation for services at a very reasonable price. Rick referred to a notarized letter from the President of the Wenzel Farm Townhome Association authorizing this work to be done on their property. Arena Acres Playground Installation - Rick stated the next park scheduled for new playground equipment is Arena Acres Park. The playground installation will take place on Saturday, June 19, 1999, 9 : 00am. Park Board members are encouraged to assist neighborhood residents and park maintenance workers to install the new playground. Rick noted that with the recent resurfacing of the tennis courts and basketball court, Arena Acres Park will be in good shape after the playground installation is complete . Paul inquired about the number of active ball fields and soccer fields within the City. Rick advised there are 12 ball fields and 12 soccer fields . Paul also asked about the condition of the fields at Centennial Middle School . Rick stated the fields are in good shape and are currently being used. Paul asked about the number of fields within the City that are being mowed. Rick stated approximately 120 acres out of 180 acres are maintained by the City. He stated the Parks Department 8
