City of Lino Lakes <br /> Park Board Meeting <br /> June 7, 1999 <br /> Rick noted that 40 bare root trees were planted at Sunrise, <br /> Birchwood Acres, Shenandoah, and Birch Parks . <br /> Also accomplished was the completion of improvements to Sunrise <br /> Little League Fields #3 and #4 . <br /> Rick continued stating the playground equipment was installed at <br /> Marshan Park two weeks ago. <br /> The Parks Department is currently game prepping 10-12 ballfields <br /> daily which is a 6-8 hour process . <br /> Wenzel Farms Tree Clearing - Rick stated the Council designated <br /> $5, 000 to clear the trees within the trail easement that were <br /> damaged in last year' s storms . <br /> A resident of the Wenzel Farms Townhome Association owns a tree <br /> service and has submitted a quotation for services at a very <br /> reasonable price. <br /> Rick referred to a notarized letter from the President of the <br /> Wenzel Farm Townhome Association authorizing this work to be done <br /> on their property. <br /> Arena Acres Playground Installation - Rick stated the next park <br /> scheduled for new playground equipment is Arena Acres Park. The <br /> playground installation will take place on Saturday, June 19, <br /> 1999, 9 : 00am. Park Board members are encouraged to assist <br /> neighborhood residents and park maintenance workers to install <br /> the new playground. <br /> Rick noted that with the recent resurfacing of the tennis courts <br /> and basketball court, Arena Acres Park will be in good shape <br /> after the playground installation is complete . <br /> Paul inquired about the number of active ball fields and soccer <br /> fields within the City. Rick advised there are 12 ball fields <br /> and 12 soccer fields . <br /> Paul also asked about the condition of the fields at Centennial <br /> Middle School . Rick stated the fields are in good shape and are <br /> currently being used. <br /> Paul asked about the number of fields within the City that are <br /> being mowed. Rick stated approximately 120 acres out of 180 <br /> acres are maintained by the City. He stated the Parks Department <br /> 8 <br />
