City of Lino Lakes <br /> Park Board Meeting <br /> June 7, 1999 <br /> 3 . Wenzel Farms Trail Clearing $ 5, 000 <br /> Paul asked if $25, 000 is enough for the bleachers . Rick stated <br /> $25, 000 will take care of all existing bleachers within the City. <br /> Paul asked how many dollars were in the excess revenue funds . <br /> Rick estimated that the Parks Department received approximately <br /> 20% of the excess revenue funds. He noted the Parks Department <br /> received <br /> excess funds last year also. Those funds went exclusively to <br /> playground equipment . <br /> Rick noted the City is waiting to purchase the new bleachers to <br /> ensure the bleachers will meet next year' s standards . <br /> RECREATION DEPARTMENT UPDATE: <br /> Rick referred to the Program Highlights Flyer from May, 1999 . He <br /> noted that four classes will be offered this summer in the Soccer <br /> Fundamentals program. At this time, two classes are full and the <br /> other two have only a few spaces left . <br /> n Rick stated there are 19 preschoolers currently registered in the <br /> Preschool Playtime program. <br /> A few of the sites for the Playground Program already have over <br /> 20 registered participants . <br /> At this time, 33 out of the 40 spaces for the Options Program <br /> have been filled. <br /> Rick continued stating there are over 100 kids involved with the <br /> Youth Tennis Lessons . The number of lessons advertised has been <br /> increased. <br /> At the present time, 275 children are enrolled in the T-Ball <br /> program. The Recreation Department will attempt to offer <br /> additional classes later in the season based upon interest from <br /> participants . <br /> Rick stated Kite Day was a big success with 275 kite flying <br /> enthusiasts during the course of the day. Rick thanked the Lino <br /> Lakes Lions Club and Mountain Enterprises for their generous <br /> contributions to keep this event free for families . <br /> PARKS DEPARTMENT UPDATE: <br /> Rick reviewed a memo from Mike Hoffman, Parks Supervisor, which <br /> summarizes the maintenance highlights for May, 1999 . <br /> 7 <br />
