Lino Lakes Parks and Recreation Department
600 Town Center Parkway
CITY{ O F Lino Lakes, MN 55014
N KE (651) 982-2440 Fax (651) 982-2439
June 29, 1999
TO: Park Board Members
FROM: Mike Hoffman, Parks Supervisor
SUBJECT: June Maintenance Update
Well, summer is finally here and so are all our seasonal employees. The addition of our seasonal
employees should allow us to get caught up with the mowing and trimming and allow our full-
time maintenance staff to devote more time to improvement projects.
Highlights for June
• Irrigation installed at Rice Lake Estates Park. (contracted)
• Continued work on Marshan Park Playground—Due to a number of backordered parts this
project is not yet complete. However, the 2-5 year structure is now in as is the wood fiber
resilient surfacing. The back ordered parts should be arriving shortly and will be installed
shortly thereafter.
• Site preparation and installation of Arena Acres playground—Old play equipment has been
removed. Site has been sub-graded with a good portion of the structure installed. Again,
backordered parts and a lack of volunteer help has slowed this project. The remainder of the
equipment will be installed once it arrives with the resilient surfacing and kid timbers being
added to complete this project.
• Weekly garbage pickup
• Weekly mowing and trimming of all parks.
• Daily ballfield maintenance and preparation.
• Landscaping of Town Center site tree planting, est. grade, sodding.
• Spring fertilizer application to our irrigated athletic fields.
• Playground inspections.
• Trail inspections
Those were the major highlights for June. More to come in July.
sw/mike/June Maintenance Update.doc
