COUNCIL MINUTES JANUARY 11, 1999 <br /> Mayor Sullivan reminded those present of the guidelines for audience participation in City <br /> Council meetings, emphasizing the need for respectful dialog. u <br /> OPEN MIKE <br /> Mayor Sullivan announced the City is very pleased to have Ms. Linda Waite Smith as the new <br /> City Administrator. Ms. Waite Smith previously worked for the City of Minneapolis and the <br /> City of Ramsey. <br /> Mayor Sullivan announced that the Early Childhood Development Center has opened. It is the <br /> first of the municipal buildings to open within the Town Center. <br /> Mayor Sullivan reminded residents that snowmobiling is not permitte k trails. <br /> Mayor Sullivan stated that Fairview Health Center is conductin a in Lino Lakes. <br /> They currently have twenty early childhood families and twe, se rs ey. Fairview is <br /> looking for twenty more families with health issues to inte 1 plans to implement <br /> several programs including monthly blood pressure checks on programs, access to <br /> Senior Citizen education, and physicals. Mayor Sullivan noted the Insti edicine opened today at the <br /> Fairview Clinic. <br /> Mayor Sullivan stated changes were in y r` ding Council meetings to enable <br /> citizens to be more involved. Mayor <br /> Sullivan encouraged citizens to to g the Council work sessions because there is <br /> usually more discussion. <br /> No one appeared for op <br /> PUBLIC HEARITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT CDBG <br /> FUNDING FOR 1 AN TESCH <br /> The City will receive estimated$36,063.00 (less$1,000 for administration) in CDBG dollars <br /> for the 1999-2000 grant year. The dollars can be used to benefit low and moderate income <br /> residents or to clean-up slum and blighted areas of the City. The purpose of the public hearing is <br /> to receive comments and requests from the public for the use of funds. <br /> The Council will take comments this evening,review the material submitted by each applicant <br /> and then make final funding decisions at the February 8, 1999, Council meeting. <br /> Mayor Sullivan opened the public hearing at 6:39 p.m. <br /> 2 <br />
