Council Member Lyden introduced the following resolution and moved its <br /> adoption. <br /> CITY OF LINO LAKES <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 99-06 <br /> A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING AN APPLICATION TO THE COOPERATIVE TRAIL <br /> LINKAGE GRANT PROGRAM <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes has a Comprehensive Trails Plan and is working to <br /> complete the trail system for use and enjoyment of the citizens of Lino Lakes; and; <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes contains 2,500 acres of regional park that contributes <br /> immensely to the efforts of recreational opportunities for Lino Lakes residents; and <br /> WHEREAS, the proposed trail improvements will connect existing residential areas in the City <br /> of Lino Lakes to the 2,500 acre Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Regional Park Reserve and will <br /> provide access for Lino Lakes residents to a multitude of recreational opportunities; and <br /> WHEREAS, the city is willing and able to match 50% of the total project cost for the <br /> construction of the trail; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Cooperative Trail Linkage Grant Program is available through the State of <br /> Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and will fund 50% of the construction costs for <br /> accepted projects up to $50,000; and <br /> WHEREAS, should the city receive the Cooperative Trail Linkage Grant funds the city will <br /> complete the proposed project by June 30,2002. <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED,by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes,the <br /> Council fully supports the application to the Cooperative Trail Linkage Grant Program—State of <br /> Minnesota for the development of trail connections to the Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Regional <br /> Park Reserve. <br /> Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 8`"da of <br /> Ki erl A. pilivan <br /> The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council Member <br /> Dahl and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor <br /> thereof: Bergeson, Dahl, Lyden, Sullivan <br /> The following against same: Council Member Neal was absent <br /> Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
