COUNCIL MINUTES FEBRUARY 22, 1999 <br /> OPEN MIKE <br /> No one appeared for open mike. <br /> Mayor Sullivan stated the City has started a task force to address the issue of bleacher safety <br /> within the City. <br /> Mayor Sullivan stated that Senator Krentz has initiated legislation to enforce a 25 mile per hour <br /> speed limit in school zones. Senator Krentz will be testifying in the Senate later this week. <br /> Mayor Sullivan stated the City is making progress on developing a Preservation Development <br /> Process for development within the City. <br /> ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT REPORT,DAN TESCH <br /> Receive GFOA Award for Finance Department for 1998 -Mr. Tesch stated the City of Lino <br /> Lakes is the recipient of the Certificate of Achievement for Ekcellence in Financial Reporting for <br /> the third year in a row. This certificate is presented by the Government'Finance Officers <br /> Association of the United States and Canada to government units whose comprehensive annual <br /> financial reports achieve the highest standards in governmentaccounting and financial reporting. <br /> Mr. Tesch thanked Daryl Sulander, Joyce Lund,Paula Schloer, and Lynn Francis for their <br /> dedication and hard work. <br /> Additional Non-Union Salary Adjustments for 1999 -Mr. Tesch stated the recent de- <br /> certification of the Lino Lakes Management Association allows the City Council to proceed with <br /> cost of living adjustments for the'follcwing positions: <br /> Public Safety Dimmctor <br /> Public Services Di or <br /> Community Deelopment Director <br /> Public Works ndent <br /> Parks Departrri -fit Office Manager <br /> Police Departmdht Office Manager <br /> Mr. Tesch stated the recommendation is for a 3%adjustment, consistent with metropolitan cities <br /> and other employee groups. This adjustment would be retroactive to January 1, 1999. <br /> Mr. Tesch recommended that the Pay Program be amended to reflect the addition of a Recreation <br /> Supervisor II, and that the incumbent be placed at Step 5 ($43,200). <br /> Council Member Lyden moved to approve the adjustment of salaries for non-union employees <br /> by 3% and create a Recreation Supervisor II position with placement of the incumbent at Step 5. <br /> Council Member Dahl seconded the motion.
