Progr Highlights—January Parkboard Update <br /> YOUTH <br /> K <br /> Toss, Kick and Catch: 11 parent/child groups are registered in this newpreschool sport <br /> development program. This is an excellent turnout for a brand new program. <br /> }% old Away ForA Day Trips. Two successful ski trips have taken place so far this season-each with <br /> over 30 participants. Two more trips are scheduled to take place over the next month.Registrations are cow <br /> still being accepted for our upcoming K-3rd grade `Be My Valentine"program at Wargo. <br /> 7� Dance:Our dance programs are very popular this winter. We have had to develop new classes for <br /> ' some of the programs. <br /> A& <br /> Snack and Skate Skating Lessons:Popular classes this season are Mighty Mites and Beginners, <br /> .�which were rearranged to accommmodate the large number ofparticipants.A beginner figure skating <br /> class was also added this year. New this season-a skating party at Centennial Sports Arena. <br /> v <br /> Cr Basket `Have a Ball":80 children are taking part in this seven-session program. This is an <br /> increase over last year. The program is taught by volunteer and paid coaches. <br /> ' Family Open Gym. This program has seen the biggest increase in attendance. The gym is packed with <br /> young people and adults.Activities are set up for the participants to take part in a variety ofgym <br /> games. In the future, age and price will be researched to make sure the prices are reasonable and <br /> space sufficient to enjoy the program. IVP� <br /> ADULT <br /> Open Gym:Both the Open Basketball and Open Volleyball programs are doing well. We are <br /> averaging 29 people in Open Basketball and 17 people in Open Volleyball <br /> Tai Chi:Registration is full for this program. This class has continually been filled since it began. <br /> Indoor Adult Soccer. We are currently accepting registrations for this program. We are optimistic M�4r can maintain our team numbersfrom last season. There were a total of 19 teams in this program <br /> 1 lastyear. This is the maximum number we are able to schedule in the Centennial Sports Arena. <br /> Fitness Classes: The fitness classes are operating smoothly.Attendance is strong at Rice Lake and we . <br /> will be looking at improving the attendance at Centerville Elementary where attendance has decreased <br /> SPRING/SUMMER PROGRAMS <br /> Brochure: Work is underway on our spring brochure. Watch for new programs as well as new twists to <br /> some old favorites.
