Planning&Zoning Board
December 9, 1998
Page 3
Mr. Robinson noted lighting is usually looked at after construction. Ms. Wyland stated
that lighting will be looked at all inclusively. Safety is an issue and the lighting should
not be too sparse.
Mr. Trehus noted he would not recommend lighting as an condition.
Mr. Dunn asked if the City receives any tax dollars from a catering license. Ms. Wyland
indicated she is not aware whether or not the City receives tax dollars from a catering
license.
Mr. Dunn stated he believes the addition to the golf course is a great opportunity for the
City and he is in favor of the site plan review.
Chair Schaps expressed concern regarding additional parking. Ms. Wyland stated that
according to the Ordinance there is adequate parking.
Chair Schaps stated he has seen the parking lot full on many occasions.
Mr. Bill Hawk, Manager of Chomonix Golf Course, stated that he has only seen over
flow parking on the grass two times in the nine years he has been there. The current
parking has been reviewed and the dividers have been removed which added another 16
lots. He indicated he believes the parking is adequate and there is room for expansion.
Chair Schaps asked if there are plans for a restaurant like Bunker Hills Golf Course has.
Mr. Hawk stated at this time a restaurant is a very low priority.
Mr. Trehus asked about additional events and how late they may run. Mr. Hawk stated
the Winter Ski by the Light of the Moon may run until 9:00- 10:00 P.M.
Mr. Trehus asked what the normal hours are for the golf course. Mr. Hawk stated regular
hours are 6:00 a.m. until dusk.
Mr. Trehus asked if a lighting plan has been submitted. Ms. Wyland stated a lighting
plan has not yet been submitted.
Mr. Hawk stated the lighting will be minimal and similar to the lighting that has been
done in the past. Eve lighting has been done previously.
Mr. Corson asked about access. Mr. Hawk stated access will be from the west. The plan
is to take the black top out on the east side and leave access for emergency vehicles.
Ms. Wyland suggested a change of address. She stated the address should be Aqua Lane.
Mr. Hawk stated their mailbox is on West Shadow. He indicated he will bring up the
possibility of an address change at their next meeting.
