PARK BOARD MINUTES <br />NOVEMBER 14, 1991 <br />The November meeting of the Lino Lakes Park Board was called to <br />order by Vice Chairman Ken Johnson at 6:35 pm on Thursday, November <br />14, 1991 at Lino Lakes City Hall. Roll call was taken, members <br />present were Bill Nissen, Ken Johnson and John Baumann. Members <br />absent were Candi Toffoli and Chairman George Lindy. Also in <br />attendance was Marty Asleson, Superintendent of Parks, Recreation <br />and Forestry, and Carole Kohler, Parks Secretary. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES: John Baumann made a motion to approve the <br />minutes of the October 7, 1991 meeting. The motion was seconded by <br />Bill Nissen, and the minutes were approved as mailed. <br />OPEN MIKE: No one appeared under Open Mike <br />OLD BUSINESS: <br />Park Dedication Formula - Marty Asleson reported that Don Volk <br />presented the park dedication formula as requested by the Park <br />Board to the council at their November 12th meeting. The council <br />voted to approve the new formula as presented, and it will become <br />affective February 1, 1992. Any new developments or subdivisions <br />after that date will use the new formula. <br />Wenzel farms - Mr. Asleson updated the board on the progress of the <br />trails running from this development to Sunrise Park. <br />Recommendation of the Park Board was to talk to the property owners <br />involved in the easemnent between lots 4 & 5 on Rice Lake Court <br />regarding the change of this easement from utility easement to a <br />trail. Marty Asleson reported that the property owners were <br />cooperative, the selling point was the landscaping that the City <br />will do along such trails. The property agreement is still being <br />worked on, and it is at the City Attorney's now. <br />Golf Course - Marty Asleson reported that the property along Aqua <br />Lane that was originally considered for a golf course was no longer <br />available. This property is presently being considered for a new <br />development by Jack Menkveld . Mr. Menkveld will be appearing <br />before the Park Board on December 2 regarding that. Marty says he <br />has discussed the golf course issue with Bill Nissen, and Mr. <br />Nissen has suggested using students to do market analysis and <br />demand and feasibility studies. Ken Johnson noted that any other <br />parcels available to buy for a golf course may be too close to <br />Chomonix. Mr. Asleson mentioned that there is a possiblity that <br />another golf course will be coming into the City also. He states <br />that 01we need someone to spend the time and do the research." Bill <br />Nissen will contact the people he has in mind and report back to <br />the board. <br />1 <br />
